So after some research and some help from this site and others i have come up with this build:
processor: I5-3570k http://www.komplett.dk/k/ki.aspx?sku=660227 for 1639 DKK

motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H http://www.komplett.dk/k/ki.aspx?sku=748567 for 1019 DKK

GPU: ASUS GeForce GTX 660Ti 2GB PhysX CUDA http://www.komplett.dk/k/ki.aspx?CL9sku=772794 for 2110 DKK

Ram: Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz 8GB http://www.komplett.dk/k/ki.aspx?sku=650278 for 599DKK

storage: SanDisk SSD Extreme 120GB http://www.komplett.dk/k/ki.aspx?sku=746665 for 899 DKK

storage: WD Desktop Blue 1TB http://www.komplett.dk/k/ki.aspx?sku=753350 for 499 DKK

case: Corsair Carbide 300R Midi Tower Sort http://www.komplett.dk/k/ki.aspx?sku=746612#extra for 599 DKK

power: XFX ProSeries Core Edition 550W PSU http://www.komplett.dk/k/ki.aspx?sku=657685 at 469 DKK

OS: Windows 8 64-bit http://www.komplett.dk/k/ki.aspx?sku=765371 for 799 DKK

With discounts and everything this totals to 7989 DKK or approximately $1350 which is quite a bit over my $1000 budget, so i need some help on how to shave off some of the cost while still keeping around the same performance, allowing me to run Rome II on highest setting and BF4 on good settings. Does anybody have suggestions on how i can cut back on the cost or any ideas on things i should do differently?

Any help is much appreciated :)

This is the exact same build http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1a6fw but it's only a little over $1000 maybe things are more expansive in Denmark.
All I can think of is to drop the 660 Ti down to a 660. The other parts are pretty essential unless you're willing to go for an AMD build.

Dropping to a 660 barely saves me any money. Would an AMD build give me the same kind of Game performance whilst costing less?

Don't overclock; it provides little benefit to gaming for a high cost (You don't seem to have included a CPU cooler which would be necessary for an overclock anyway). Get the cheapest ivy bridge i5 you can find and get an H77 chipset motherboard for it instead of a Z77 chipset. For a point of reference, the Z77 motherboard chipset you listed costs $140 USD whereas you can get an H77 chipset motherboard for $80 USD. You will also save on the i5 by not getting a "K" series CPU. Don't sacrifice on the GPU; it is almost always the best dollar for dollar investment when building a gaming machine.

If you need to further shave some money off of your build, get a cheaper case. This NZXT Source 210 S210-001 is comparable to the Corsair case you listed and would fit the same hardware.

You might also consider buying 1 4GB stick of RAM and buy the next stick later if you decide you need it.

Last, the GTX 760 just came out and posted performances in BF3 that are superior to the 660 Ti. The 760 will be offered at a lower price point than the 660 Ti, so it may be worth waiting to purchase a higher-performing 760 for a lower price.

The HD 7850 is cheaper than the 660Ti yet overall is the same if not better performance and can be OC'ed, in fact for teh same money as a Ti you could get a Radeon 7870 so there's an area you could make savings in off the bat.

Why would you say that?

Look at the margins and the fact 7870's can even OC, how do you justify saying the 660Ti is better? I thought it was pretty Universal that in hard specs the 7870 is just a plain better card.

Definitely agree with you. Get a 7870, and maybe sacrifice the SSD. Its not essential, and can always be added later...

7870 is better on paper but its real world performance is close to the GTX 660 Ti. The GTX 660 Ti is better in some games (Crysis 2/3, Battlefield 3) and HD 7870 is better at Skyrim and Metro.
Here's a pretty old benchmark comparison between the cards just for reference http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/548?vs=647

You would be happy with either cards. 660 Ti comes with Metro: Last Night on newegg and 7870 comes with Crysis 3 if that makes any difference.

Actually, with GTX 760 being released, you should get it because for $250 you're getting performance close to a GTX 670.
