I am looking to buy a new card, and im not sure if i should go for 7970 Ghz now or if i should wait a bit for a posaible price drop because of the release of the new nvidia cards. I know 7970 Ghz's go for around 400$ but ive seen a few go for around 380 on newegg. Do you think there is a chance the price will drop? And if it doesnt, do you think the 7970 Ghz edition is worth the extra 50$ over the normal one?

There's a Sapphire 7970 GHz Edition Vapor-X card for $349 @ NewEgg.com right now actually. (After $20 MIR). Plus you get 4 free games (Crysis 3, Bioshock Infinite, Blood Dragon, and.... something else).

My guess is this might become the new price point for this card. The GTX 770 can be had for $400 and is slightly faster (though 7970 GHz ED will win out in certain AMD leaning titles).

The GTX 760 just released @ $250. Since the 7970 GHz Ed. is faster I can't imagine AMD would drop their price too much further. They simply don't need to to be competitive.
