looking for a new 7.1 headset

I have owned a pair of megalodons for quite some time now and up till now they have been great. Long story short, they no longer work due to frayed wires going into the card.

I am looking for a new headset that will use 7.1 (whether its "real" or not, I don't have a feeling toward though from what I have read, "real" surround sound involves many tiny drivers and gives poor quality)

I do not currently have a sound card.

I would prefer a mike but if there is a good 7.1 headset out there with fantastic quality in my price range, I would be fine overlooking that.

I am not looking to spend more than around $200

I am looking at the Logitech g35 but I am wide open to suggestions.

I've had a G930 (I think it's just a wireless version of G35) and they were absolutely amazing. They were really comfortable, amazing surround sound experience and really have 12 hours battery life. But they were pretty terrible at heavy bass music, the audio gets distorted.
