Which type of GPU waterblock?

Hello, so i plan on getting a waterblock for my GTX780 SC, no ACX.
The two most popular ones are the EK waterblocks and the EVGA waterblock.
Is there really a performance ( in terms of degrees celcius) difference amongst either one? And if i get a GTX780 Hydrocopper waterblock, will i need a backplate? And I need a reference card right(normal card w/o anything)? Not like the DCII or the Windforce or the ACX cooling correct?
If I'm too lazy to wait for the stuff to come out and assemble it, I'll probably ge a GTX780 Hydrocopper edition.

Far as I know you can only get HydroCopper blocks with the cards themselves, they aren't sold separately.

Backplate isnt necessary, and if it is then it would come with the block.

You need a reference design PCB, which to my understanding is the vast majority of 780's.

Main CPU waterblock brands i like ATM is EK and XSPC. For GPU i think the main brand is EK.

That's because EK is not too expensive and also makes blocks for non reference models , like the Asus GTX 780 direct CU2

but im pretty sure others get great or better temps too.
EK is just more universal.
