Hi Guys,

I have so far put this list together as my first computer build, its going to be mainly used for gaming but also need it to function as a normal computer. Was wondering if there is a better CPU and video card for around the same money am looking at currently? Here is my parts list :)

Any opinions and idea if this wont work as i am very new to this will be appreciated :)

Thanks

Brilliant! Thank you mate that's a great help :)

Just updated it again now what you think of this?

I had a quick look and missed out a SSD will prob put WOW on aswell as OS so thats Windows 7 64 bit and WOW on the SSD 90gb should be enough do you think thats the best SSD for the price? Also will i need a bigger power supply?

Thanks

The PSU should be fine - but this is better - http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1450s...

It's slightly more powerful (20W more than the Corsair), but it's very high quality. Same price as that Corsair PSU as well :)

Also, for the SSD I'd get this - http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/sandisk-internal-hard-d...

Sandisk make great SSDs, and they're reasonably priced too. If you can't quite afford the 128gb version, the 64gb would be fine, I think - http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/sandisk-internal-hard-d...

Also, if you don't mind forking out an extra £7 for the HDD, this would be better than the Seagate - http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/western-digital-interna...

WD make superb hard drives, although Seagate's are still very respectable - especially on their value for money.

Hope this helps :)

No worries, buddy :D

And it depends on the game, to be honest.

Obviously, you'd need to spend a lot more on the GPU to play games like Crysis 3, Far cry 3 etc on high settings, but that card will be fine for many games, even at 1080p. I think WoW would run fine on that card :)

And that PSU I suggested has all the connectors you'll need :)

As for the cooler, you won't need it if you don't plan to overclock - the cooler than comes with the 3470 will be sufficient :)

That's brilliant mate cheers for this thinking that when i get all the parts will turn into a nice build :)  as for overclocking don't really have the time for that :L ill take the CPU cooler out of it :)  is there anything that you could suggest that may improve it on the gaming side or personal that isn't a huge dent in my bank?

Also if i change from Intel Core i5-3470 3.2GHz Quad-Core to a Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor would i notice enough differance to justify £20?

Thanks

No worries :D

And upgrading to a 3570k won't benefit you - the k variant of Intel's CPUs are for overclockers - since you aren't going to be overclocking, you don't need it. The 3570 fits your bill much better :)

As for further upgrades, the only thing I can suggest is getting a better GPU, but obviously this adds to the cost.

If you're willing to shell out an extra £25, you could pick up a 7790, which is slightly better than the 7770.

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/sapphire-video-card-100...

The 7790 is also generally quite a bit quieter than the 7770, if noise bothers you :p

Other than that, there's not much that can be done without putting a dent in your wallet :p
