CPU temperature Help PLEASE!!

Hello I bought my computer a few years ago and have a problem with me cpu that I recently noticed, maybe its a bit too late but I still wish to solve it
The problem is similar to this thread here : http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/292612-28-idle-temp

Where my own IDLE cpu temp is 58 - 63 degrees celcius.......... I have cleaned the cpu fan already, I don't have a heatsink but I don't think the reason is heatsink it self.

My CPU is AMD Phenom II X4 965
and my motherboard is ASUS M4A88T-M/USB3
I don't have much experience in hardware so I haven't OC my cpu or gpu, my fan is perfectly above the cpu and the computer was prebuilt before so I believe thermal pasting isn't at fault here.

According to previous thread the solution was something to do with cpu "vcore" but that thread is 3 years old and I have processor so I thought it would be a better idea to discuss first before taking those steps.

NOTE: I did go in bios and turned on all 4 cpu cores manually, but I don't know if that's the source of the problem!

A photo to show you the temp:

Any help would be appreciated, Thanks :)

  1. Heatsink is the metal piece that the cpu fan sits on, remove it, wipe thermal paste with alcohol ( from the heatsink and the cpu ) and apply a new one, around pea sized dot to the middle of the cpu.

    that should resolve your problems.
  2. What about a solution regarding the thread from 3 years ago, the problem is almost exactly same as his!!
