I'm a first time builder and I've done a list of what i need to build myself a Video/Audio studio. After a little research I've come up with this list:

$7.00 ----- Anti - static -
$20.00 --- Cool fan 120 X 2
$50.00 --- Cool fan 200 X 2
$250.00 --- corsair power supply HX 1550
$180.00 --- corsair h100 cooler
$400.00 ---- corsair 32gb xms3
$600.00 ---- samsung 840 series 250 gb ssd X 2 (1/Windows 1/OS)
$200.00 ---- WD HDD internal 2TB
$600.00 ---- i7 3930k processor
$450.00 ---- 2gb 680 video card
$350.00 ----- sabertooth x79 motherboard
$85.00 ------- Liteon iHBS312 12x Blu-ray Burner Combo DVD Optical Drive Internal SATA Black PC

My gut instinct tells me I could save a few dollars - help! - Please keep in mind I'm an media industry professional - Not a student or gamer

Get a Gtx 770 instead of gtx 680.Their performance is equal and gtx 770 is $50 cheaper..

No need for such a powerful PSU.any 1000-1200w should be enough..

Two 770s require 750 watts , 850 if Overclocking

Here is Guru3D's power supply recommendation:

GeForce GTX 770 - On your average system the card requires you to have a 550 Watt power supply unit.
GeForce GTX 770 2-way SLI - On your average system the cards require you to have a 750 Watt power supply unit as minimum.
GeForce GTX 770 3-way SLI - On your average system the cards require you to have a 1000 Watt power supply unit as minimum.

If you are going to overclock your GPU or processor, then we do recommend you purchase something with some more stamina.
