this will be my first build and I'm wondering which one I should go with

AMD version: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/ironmetaltd/saved/1FOv

Intel version: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/ironmetaltd/saved/1BQT

I'm mostly gonna be web surfing and multitasking but I also want to be playing games that will be come out like watch dogs and battlefield 4. which one will have more bang for the buck? and if possibly more future proof

I'm deciding to go with AMD I made some changes to it thanks for the help

I'd go with the AMD, it's less, you can update the DRAM to either 2x2GB (less stress on MC (memory controller) or better yet go 2x4GB (8GB is basically the starting point these days, and get a decent CPU cooler like the 212 EVO

The Intel build, every time. However, I would rethink that power supply. Coolermaster are renowned for making crappy PSUs - always go for something from XFX, Corsair, Seasonic or Antec. 550w should be about right for your set up. It's a great build and will definitely handle those games you mentioned.

EDIT: Just noticed you have 4gb of ram. Definitely try and upgrade that to 8gb, which is the amount recommended for gaming. Also get 2 x 4gb sticks and not 1 x 8gb.
