Hello,

My friend has this computer:

Is there any hope of upgrading this rig so it can at least play games (such as Skyrim with light modding)? He doesn't know much about computers so this is all the info I have on the computer. I don't even know what kind of PSU it has.

So far, this is what I've come up with:

1. Add more RAM. Get rid of the 1GB RAM and use a 2GB instead.
2. Buy a dedicated graphics card. But I don't know which one I should buy (or which ones the motherboard supports, for that matter).

Budget would be less than £150. Would it be better if I up the budget to £500 and build a new computer altogether?

Sorry if I said anything silly. I'm new to this. And thanks in advance. :)

2gb isn't enough. You need at least 4gb of RAM nowadays - 8gb is preferred.
EDIT: Just realised it has 3gb RAM and you meant replace the 1gb module with 2gb, giving 4gb in total - yes, this would be good. Make sure that you use the same type of RAM though (manufacturer, speed, CAS, voltage).

It would probably be better to build a new one though.
