all of this will work great together. this looks like a gaming build so if you have the budget you might want to invest in a better graphics card, the 650 ti is still a good card if you dont have any more headroom . great build! dont forget about the hdd, optical drive and os, because that costs money too!

@camMan, Thanks for the input, i would love to go up to the 700 series gtx, but that build is the limit of my budget!!! which is why i don't need all the other things hdd, optical drive, etc, I have a few computers that aren't in use anymore that I can salvage some pieces out of :) and I cant quite call it a gaming rig, as the only thing I play right now is minecraft, but I play around with photoshop quite a bit, and eventually would like to get into video editing, nothing serious, but id like to have a rig that would last for a few years.

@realchaos it isnt quite for gaming, but i'll use it for some games, but most of my gaming is older games through virtual consoles... budget is to the $1000 mark or so.. Purpose photo editing more than anything, and definitely no overclocking, I have no clue how to do that stuff.

Downgrade to 8gb ram, you won't notice a difference at all. And you won't need a 'k' type CPU either as you are paying for the ability to overclock, something you said you have no intentions of doing. I'd question needing the liquid cooling, as a stock cpu cooler would do just fine.

@jimthenagual I had no idea the K was for overclock, then i deffinately don't need that then. I would prefer not to do liquid cooled because id be afraid to set it up wrong somehow... I was just worried that if i had a few things open that are pretty cpu intensive it would overheat, like having minecraft running idle farming at the spawner while i messed around on excel or sorting pictures or just anything else in general... I could cut back to the 8gb ram but i wanted the room for future upgrades if i need to.

-Yes, the K series and Z87 chipset motherboard are for overclocking. Only reason I put them in here is because it's about the same price due to a really good combo at Newegg.com. If you buy the cpu+motherboard as a combo, you get $100 off. It will be the same price if you grabbed the i7-4770 + H87 chipset motherboard.
-An i7 and 16gb of ram will really help in photoshop.
-GTX 770, extremely stronger gpu. May be overkill, but it fits. You can cut down to a HD 7950/7970 and get some free games.
-Cut back on the case a bit, but the 200r is still a good case for the price.
-You don't need over 550w psu for anything unless you're doing a sli/crossfire set-up, which you aren't.

Ok you need to rethink your build. As stated above, you have no need for liquid cooling as you won't be overclocking. You definitely don't need a 750W power supply with a 650Ti and no overclocking. You could probably save some money on a case as I doubt you'd really need a full tower. Unless you NEED a red case, then by all means, go for it :)

In short, even if you don't think you're going to do gaming, you might want to in the future, so think about spending more on the GPU, and less on the CPU and Mobo. Maybe get yourself a 4570 or a 4670, ditch the 4670k for sure.

listen to some of these people they go into a little more detail than i did, honestly i dont think its unbalanced, and yeah you dont need that big of a psu, unless you want some headroom for upgrades in the future, and i just assumed you were gunna overlock, and yeah dont get the k if your not gunna overclock

realchaos, I seriously doubt he needs a 770 for what he plans to do. That is a great build for around $1000 for sure, but if we use some of your parts and he cuts back the CPU and GPU he could put himself under his budget by a lot.

CPU: Intel Core i7-4770 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($249.99 @ Microcenter)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.98 @ Outlet PC)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H87-D3H ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($104.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($108.00 @ Newegg)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 760 2GB Video Card ($259.99 @ NCIX US)
Case: Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case ($49.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: SeaSonic S12II 520W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($67.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Total: $870.92
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

Not too sure about that mobo, just did the H87 version of the one you chose for your build above.

Cutting back on the cpu is not a very good idea. Since he already plans to buy from Newegg anyways, the i7-4770 + H87 motherboard is about the same price as the i7-4770k + ASrock Z87 Extreme6 because of the Newegg bundle: i7-4770k + select Z87 motherboard, $100 off.
I did say the 770 is a bit overkill, i knew that much.

Well by "cutting back" I really meant go down to the 4770 but I guess he could go for the 4770k if it's the same price with the combo. And yea I know you said it was overkill, but why spend a ton of extra money on a 770 when he really doesn't need it? Apparently the 760 is the new sweet spot for those on a budget.

I like you guys' ideas! I definately want to have the ability to upgrade in the future, or if i were to get into serious games i'd like to have the ability to play it, The games i do play don't require a lot of resources, but it would be nice to know that if i were to get a demanding game i'd be able to run it without a problem!! Thanks for the input again!
