Hey can somebody help me out figure out if the ATI radeon hd 5850 will work on my hp a1600n

In short, yes, but it will be a tight fit. I would be a bit worried about cooling, as well as the fact that the slot on your motherboard would hinder the performance on the card.
In total, it would technically fit, but I would strongly recommend against it. Also, it would only work if the case is wide enough, and with OEM computers, those specs are hard to find, as they exaggerate sometimes.
I wouldn't do it if I were you.

Hi - agree with dannyboy - the card might fit, but you will not only have the issue of
it fitting (I couldn't find the tower dimensions), but the PSU in that PC is unlikely
to have sufficient power for your system with a 5850.

Yeah - I couldn't find the PSU specs either. Considering that PC was introduced
in 2006, I wouldn't expect that PC's PSU to be able to handle that card anyway.

Overall, the card won't work. It may or may not fit, but we can't be sure. It also is probably incompatible with the PSU, so there are too many possibilities of failure to justify this upgrade.
