Should I buy a used Samsung 830 or a new 840 (non Pro) SSD?

I am debating on whether I should buy a used Samsung 830 series SSD 128 gb or a new 840 series 120gb SSD.

I read that the 830 is better but for reasons I don't know or understand. Is there really a big difference in them? Isn't any SSD just basically the same as any other? I am mainly just using it as a boot drive.

And also is the Kingston V300 120GB good as well?

Thanks!

Samsung is pretty much king of the SSD pile right now. As far as which series to get, you wouldn't notice a difference between the 830 or 840 except in benchmarking. For daily use, you'd never know which was in there.

I would either get a samsung 830 or 840 pro. Sandisk SSDs are good as well, so is the corsair Neutron GTX.

Hope this helps! :D

Ok thanks, well both of these I can get for about $100, but I also found a Kingston V300 120GB less than both of those by a bit, should I just buy the Kingston? Do you know if Kingston is a reliable SSD brand, specifically the V300?
