I put in a quite a bit of research into this, but it is my first full computer project. I attempted to insure everything was compatible, but I am worrisome that I made some mistakes. I would also be open to suggestions for improvements. I originally was going to go with newegg, but I get free shipping with amazon which is why almost all the links will be going to amazon.

My budget is around 800 dollars, I really wouldn't prefer to go over.

Motherboard:
ASUS M5A97 R2.0 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

Processer:

AMD FX-4300 FX-Series Four-Core Processor Edition, Black AM3 FD4300WMHKBOX

Graphics:

Gigabyte GTX650 Ti Boost GDDR5-2GB 2xDVI/HDMI/DP OC Graphics Cards GV-N65TBOC-2GD

RAM:
G.SKILL 8GB (2 x 4GB) Ripjaws X Series DDR3 1600MHz 240-Pin PC3-12800 Desktop Memory F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL

(X2)

Hard Drive
WD Blue 1 TB Desktop Hard Drive: 3.5 Inch, 7200 RPM, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64 MB Cache - WD10EZEX

Case
Rosewill CHALLENGER Black Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case, comes with Three Fans-1x Front Blue LED 120mm Fan, 1x Top 140mm Fan, 1x Rear 120mm Fan, option Fans-2x Side 120mm Fan

Power Supply
Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus 700-Watt Power Supply (RS700-PCAAE3-US)

DVD Drive
Asus 24xDVD-RW Serial ATA Internal OEM Drive DRW-24B1ST (Black)

I will never over-clock anything in my computer, so I'm hoping my factory fans will be enough.

I already have a moniter, so no need for that, I do not know the exact specs; if I had to estimate it would be around 27-30 inches.

I will also need to buy a new OS since its a complete build, the whole OEM thing scares me, especially if I have to replace parts.

I'm doing this upgrade to make a more suitable gaming computer in lieu of buying one of the next-gen consoles, and I didn't plan to make any purchases until I had it looked over by someone more experienced than myself.

Thank you in advance for any help or insight you could provide.

looks good! mother board is a check, take not however that is the 970 chipset not the 990, main difference being no SLI support, so unless you plan on getting two graphics cards in the future this should be fine, and Asus has wonderful customer service, i have experience with an RMA with them, it was a thing of beauty, however have you considered an fx-6300? for just a tiny bit more and much more performance? http://www.amazon.com/AMD-FX-6300-Six-Core-Processor-FD6300WMHKBOX/dp/B009O7YORK/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1372757994&sr=1-3&keywords=AMD+FX-4350 also if you could atleast the 4350, and if you could 6350. other than that, it is all compatable and you will have a working machine :)
