Please. Help me.
I haven't sleep or ate in 3 day now.

Long story, my motherboard died, so I replaced it along with CPU and RAM.
Turn out the start up repair process with the old HD corrupted my old HD, so I ended up buying a fresh HD.
Now I'm trying to install Windows Vista Home Premium 64 on the new HD, which is what I used before and I have the serial sticker. However the recovery CD wasn't recognized (Reboot and select proper boot device error), so I downloaded the Vista HP 64 SP1 iso and burned into a dvd (lowest speed).
After many tries, the system finally recognized the CD and I went ahead and install Vista, just for it to be hanged at Expanding Files 0% for 6 hour before I accidentally hit my leg into the open tray button slightly and canceled the installation, which allowed me to shut down safely as it stated (no changes where saved).
Until I try to boot up and install it again, this time it say press any key to boot from CD, so I did, then it say it again, and I did it again, and this time it froze and i was forced to restart.
after that restart, this time the error mesg after bios was BOOTMGR not found, CTRL AL DEL to restart. what the hell?
so I did google for hours w many possible resolution, one was to disable the HD and leaving only the DVD drive as top and priory, to only get the error :Re boot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device.
and if I enable my HD, I get missing Bootmgr again.

I tried to burn 4 different disc and I cannot get back into vista install screen anymore.

Please help me, I think I'm going to loose my sanity at this rate with the fourth sleepless day.

thank you so much.

edit:seem like I clicked the wrong sub forum, many apologies but I'm pretty mentally unstable right now. if a mod can move this to appropriate forum I would really appreciate it.

hmmm lets ditch the DVD method, and use the USB flash method :

http://www.intowindows.com/how-to-install-windows-7vista-from-usb-drive-detailed-100-working-guide/

This method will work on anything (vista as well), cause its manual method, you will need another computer to create the USB thumb drive, and since you said you have the ISO image it will work, Please avoid the burning and using CD/DVD all together by MOUNTING the ISO image as image using EMULATION SOFTWARE, i use imdisk (some folks uses daemon tools or Power ISO its popular nowadays.)

http://www.ltr-data.se/opencode.html/#ImDisk

after installing imdisk right click the ISO file and select --> mount as imdisk virtual disk.

in the above guide there is step that you need to copy something from the ISO, so use emulation as instructed and bypass all the CD/DVD hell.

another tip :

Replace this step : FORMAT FS=NTFS

with

FORMAT FS=NTFS QUICK

speed up things

Hello
Thank you for the reply, emad
I don't have access to an usb stick right now, and will need to buy one.
Mean while only thing I have access to is those DVD, also about :
Replace this step : FORMAT FS=NTFS

with

FORMAT FS=NTFS QUICK

if that step can be applied while using DVD method? and if so when or where?
Thank you for your time and help.

Also, this 5th DVD I burned given me a slightly different result, this time it says:
Press any key to boot from cd or dvd
Bootmgr is missing
Press CTRL AL DEL to restart
(before, there wasn't the Press any key to boot from cd or dvd, just the Bootmgr error).

my method will only work on USB sadly and it wont work on DVD, i use USB cause its read write media, and i can re-use it 5000 times before wearing out, while DVD once burned there gone unless you will use a DVD RW, which wears out after a couple of uses

I see, actually I've been using DVD-RW for those copies.
So I decided to test by putting back 4 other bad DVD and it all gave me only Missing Bootmgr error, while the 5th one, shows me the Press any key to boot from DVD AND the Bootmgr error, I'm thinking it might have something to do with the iso, the burn program, or the setting.

just an update.
I bough a USB flash drive and converted the ISO into the USB to be bootable via YUMI universal usb program.
I'm still getting same error that BOOTMGR is missing, so its not the Dvd drive, nor the bad cd fault.
something is wrong here but I don't know what causing it.
HD, Mobo, Processor.
all brand new...but if one of them defected, I suppose its might be possible for this to keep happening?

Can we do a quick test since you bought a USB flash drive:

1) make sure the BIOS is set to boot from USB, you will need to enter setup or press f2 or f10 or f12 for boot menu in your keyboard.

2) download slitaz, (small linux distro):

http://www.slitaz.org/en/get/#stable

Direct link :

http://mirror.slitaz.org/iso/4.0/slitaz-4.0.iso

3) Format that USB to FAT32, using any tool or windows stuff

4) after format, download unetbootin:

http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/

Direct link:

http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/unetbootin/UNetbootin/585/unetbootin-windows-585.exe?r=http%3A%2F%2Funetbootin.sourceforge.net%2F&ts=1372929103&use_mirror=garr

5) launch unetbootin select Disk Image option, point to the Slitaz ISO

Make sure in the below drop box Type is set to USB drive and the drive letter is correctly shown, then press ok

6) it will take 1-2 mins, afterwards USB is ready, insert it in your defective computer, and boot from it using BIOS or press f2 or f10 or f12 for boot menu in your keyboard.

report back what happens please, and if those steps are hard to perform for you, then its better to go to an computer shop

using this guide :

http://www.intowindows.com/how-to-install-windows-7vista-from-usb-drive-detailed-100-working-guide/

This is step that creates the MBR on the USB drive: (STEP 7)

BOOTSECT.EXE /NT60 H:

If you meant to ask how can i fix my existing MBR ? or create a new one ?

for that you will need a Windows 7 repair disk, most of the above solutions i gave to the above user what to transfer the windows 7 installer from DVD to USB, cause hes DVD drives are not working.

if you dont have access to DVD drive or DVD disk, then use the above link to create a USB windows 7 installer, cause from that installer we can repair your computer, there is an option to repair as seen here :

http://malwaretips.com/blogs/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/windows-7-repair-your-computer.jpg

if you have DVD, then simply burn an windows 7 iso to the dvd and boot from it, then do the following :

http://www.tomshardware.com/news/win7-windows-7-mbr,10036.html

and do all of ther above stated in the article And stop till you reach this command:

bootrec.exe /RebuildBcd

this should be the final command execute it, dont go any lower in the article, hopefully that should solve the issue

The USB with windows 7 on it will work on my laptop(using window 8). by the way this is the first computer ive ever built. Im rdy to pull my hair out!

I did this process and the UNETBOOTIN loaded up from the USB in the new computer perfectly, a lot of infor came across the screen, looks like info about the MOBO kinda stuck on what to do next.

EDIT: OK it seems that was an error VFS cannt open roo device. I downloaded a core version of the iso file and it opened up with select a lang, keyboard. then someone info came across the screen and it asked for a slitaz loginand password which I don't have

Okay I used the first guide from http://www.intowindows.com/how-to-install-windows-7vista-from-usb-drive-detailed-100-working-guide/

I got the bootmgr on the 32gbUSB and copied the windows 7 dvd contents to the USB. It loads up on this computer fine. the windows installation screen comes up. When I put it in the new rig I says I get BOOTMGR is missing press any key to restart, when i hit enter the I get the reboot and select proper boot devce or insert boot media in selected boot devic and press a key, then they just alternate between both errors. I ran that Slitaz Locale fix from the same USB and it worked i couldn't log in though because i have to slitaz username.

Im soooo confused
