I'm looking at the possibility of getting an intervalometer for my Sony Handycam DCR-SR37, and am advised it (the camcorder) has to have IR capability. Before I splash out, can anyone advise me if this particular camcorder has that ability?

Thanks
Deryck

From a look at the specs it does not appear that it does. You can check the manual - http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/4124309111.pdf - to see if I some how overlooked it. Since it does not come with a wireless remote commander, which use IR, my guess is no. Then again I could be wrong because according to this - http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100107... - "The camera can still see IR LED's on a remote, but it doesn't have the strength to see as much IR light in Pitch Black."

Yeah, I couldn't find the manual. Looks like you may be right: it certainly doesn't mention IR anywhere.
Thanks for the reply though. Appreciate it.
