Hello,
I am pretty new to Overclocking.

I am planning on buying an i5 4670k, gtx770 not looking to add any more cards to the build later down the track. 8gigs of ram, an SSD +HDD as a back up. A 750W Cooler master bronze plus psu. A CM storm scount2 as a case. Bought additional 3 fans to help it dissipate heat. Not really a fan of Liquid cooling (Maintenance seems like a hassle. Custom loops to much work, Pre filled sets do seem a bit tempting but just don't like the idea of the whole possibility of wrecking the entire board).
Air cooler is, But i noticed it does not state lga1150 in the specification. I heard the LGA 1550 & 1555 are basically the same thing so it should fit?

Board1 - A mate told me to get this. But I am trying to save some money to spend on something else.

Board2-

Board3-

Board4-

This is my first attempt at Overclock. So I want to overclock it later down the track. Currently I've overclocked my current i7 920 to 3.0GHZ. It's not a lot but a novice like me, I am happy.

With the new system I am hoping to get at least 4.0 if not 4.5 Gghz

So could you tell me about each boards pros and cons? (I am not very tech smart :/) or if you could recommend another z87 board that is up to the task. It would be much appreciated.

Cheers & thanks in advance,
Jack

No, probably not. LGA 1155 and LGA 1150 are two very different things. It will most likely fit, but don't risk it. Get something like the CM Hyper 212 EVO, which we know will fit the 1150 socket (albeit with a separate plate).
Most anything Z87 will be fine for the OCs you are doing. 4.5 GHz is not crazy, and as long as you have a good air/water cooler, you should be great. I recommend the Asrock Extreme4.

Thanks for the help guys. I am curious now as to what overclocking functions of an expensive mobo does it give over the gigabyte one listed in the original post?

Nothing. Some of them offer more PCIe slots, some offer cool-looking heatsinks; but in reality, for the average user, no difference will be discerned.

There is a green and grey button at the bottom-right of every post on the thread. If you thought that one person was really helpful, you can click that button on their post, and it will choose their answer as the best; it's a bit like giving a virtual cookie :)

Been doing this over at GSkill for years now, love their DRAM, and it helps me keep up with all the hardware out there, a couple folks there asked me to come here to help them with some other DRAM (didn't think it right to be helping on others DRAM at GSkill's site so came over for a couple questions and got hooked, much more hardware to be seeing, plus in addition to helping folks, it passes the time when I've got rigs in test mode, running Virus/malware scans, loading OSs, apps, etc
