Is the creative Labs SB Recon3d Fatal1ty champion PCIe Worth it?

Is that sound card attachment worth the money if you already have a HD Sound card built in on the motherboard I have an Asus sabertooth 2.0 rf 990fx AMD and I also have the Radeon 7970 VD card

So my question is what does this card exactly do and people that have it what do you use it for further than and Sound sound system for computer?

It's easier to answer if you can explain what YOU want out of your sound. What kind of headphones and speakers are you using? Which do you primarily use? Do you listen to lossless audio? Blu-ray movies? Gaming? etc etc...

What's your on-board sound? Usually its Realtek or ASUS on-board. I've heard people say that the on-board ASUS ROG sound chips provide decent quality.
