If gaming is your primary use, and if you can scrape up another $50, the GTX 760 is really well worth a closer look. It nips at the heals of the 670 and 7950 for a lot less money.

Otherwise, looks like a fine build. :)

+1 Yeah definitely a 760 would be a better buy.

the 760 on newegg is roughly $10 dollars more than the 7870. does it offer that much more performance? also which company would you recommend for the 760?

Ofc worth that little money, and i suggest EVGA's or MSI's 760 card.

sorry if this question sounds dumb, but the video card is pci-e 3.0 while the amd is pci-e 3.0 x16. this will not change anything? I did the research a long time go but since forgot. Thanks.

Here's a comparison. The difference in frame rates overall is significant in many games. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/857?vs=854

The 760 will give you a LOT more than the 7870 for only $10 more.

Personally, I'll be going with the Asus 760 OC for my m-ITX build. This one: http://www.asus.com/ca-en/Graphics_Cards/GTX760DC2OC2GD5/#overview

The GTX 760 is PCI-e 3.0 x16 compatible.
