I have a Dell Ispiron 1520. I was using it this morning when the screen went black. I had no warning. Since then the latop won't switch on at all. The middle blue light flashes for a while, with or without the battery in situ, but nothing else happens and the screen remains black.
I have tried connecting it to an external monitor, but all I get is a 'no signal' message. (The monitor is in good working order and regular use.)
I did think it was the battery module that had given up the ghost. In fact I was about to order a new one, but I felt that the laptop should work, with or without the battery, if it was plugged into a power supply. Is that right?
I would be really grateful for some advice.
