Yes, this way they can continue to give up market share to nvidia by running dated 2 year old software. Any wonder why intel crushed AMD out of the enthusiast market.

I'm sorry but are you high? They certainly dint have 2year old software and have made great strides in their drivers. The only issue is crossfire. And lets face it. Nvidia had to do a power hungry refresh of the 680 and call it a 770 just to lower the price. And it still only ties a 7970GHz, which is cheaper and has free games. Nvidia just can't get it together.

Obviously no one should believe anytime coming from China....

AMD crushed itself out of the enthusiast market, pretty much all CPU markets. The buyout of ATI and investing in the Fusion architecture was a HUGE gamble that still hasn't seen AMD any fruits of its labor. Time will tell, but yeah given it wont be on 20nm it makes you wonder they the hell AMD didn't release it on schedule to begin with.

Sea Islands the original refresh (HD 8000) was canceled apparently and now Volcanic Islands (HD 9000 entirely new architecture) has become a refresh. AMD's roadmaps are all screwed up on both CPU and GPU side of things.

AMD's mentality for GPU's is just like "we don't even care anymore" and when they do decide to release something it crushes Nvidia's rival.

will wait for official announcement from amd themselves. first it was Q4 last year. then Q2 this year. after amd own denial earlier this year now new rumor suggest this year Q4 when amd already states that 7970 ghz will remain their top offering throughout the year.

at this point is it wrong for me thinking this rumor might statred by amd themselves to hold people back from pulling the trigger on competitor product?

Fusion is still interesting but they need either to develop something like cuda or to promote / ease the use of opencl. Without gpgpu for fp operations fusion is sadly going nowhere.

Everyone just needs to relax; this is good new! Currently TSCM pumps out the chips fpr both nVidia and AMD. When is comes right down to it, all the curent 28nm GPU's are very similar. The graphical power of the GPU's is very proportional to the watts they consume. And it's all old 2011 tech. Sure the yeilds are good now and clocks speeds have increased. But I'll be happy to toss my 28nm GPU in the eWaste. Looking foward to 250 watts of 20nm tech!!

well the 7970 was released 2011 its 2013 now thats about 2 years old. Secondly its not cheaper then a 770 its in the same price range give or take 10 dollars as a standard hd7970. and a 770 is much better then the standard 7970. The 7970ghz edition starts at 450 which is 50 dollars more then a 770.

Crossfire is still riddled with micro-stutter while SLI has had that fixed for years. ATI Radeons are great from a production standpoint as they can crush it using opencl, however from gaming standpoint radeon is still day late and a dollar short on up to date drivers.

The free games is moot as if your buying a gpu of this size to play games you already own most if not all of the games they are giving away. Bioshock, farcry 3, tomb raider, sleeping dogs, not exactly brand new games, crysis 3 is good for benchmarking but is far a worthwhile shooter long term.

I can't wait for these cards. And if the rumors about AMD's next Never Settle bundle including Watch Dogs and Battlefield 4 are true, these cards are going to be especially awesome.

Because "Never Settle Reloaded" bundles started before the release of those games...duh. And if you don't own those games...well damn, that's a $150 savings on games. Yeah it's a little old but what better games have been released for PC in the last few months. Seriously when did people start complaining about free things?

I wouldn't exactly call them power hungry. My build with two 770s (yep no problems with sli) running at 1300mhz paired with 4770k @ 4.5, water cooling, etc. is pulling less than 600w from my UPS in BF3 - that's including 1x 120hz monitor. Under torture, just a bit over. You might be new to this, but for a rig this powerful that is very impressive. Don't think AMD is the model citizen for efficiency either. New flagship CPU TDP is staggering.

Oh and there is one Sapphire 7970 ghz that is cheaper (its on sale). All the rest are $50 more. So you got that going for you. Not sure where you get your facts.

I'm just eager to see what they'll call their card series' after they hit 9000. I was never fond of HD #### myself as a name...but it is a lot easier to remember compared to when Intel decides to jumble product names.

Who on Earth really gives a about your co-worker's half sister? Next it'll be "my cat raised by a bottle of purfume".

Which have made them how much money so far? FRUITS=PROFITS. So far NONE. They have trees with NO FRUIT so far. Since the purchase of ATI (heck before) they haven't made a dime, and have only lost billions. So yeah, NO FREAKING FRUIT yet. Perhaps if they stopped giving away games they would make money. :) Perhaps if they hadn't spent money on dying consoles (which probably started about 4yrs ago) they'd have a REAL CPU, and better DRIVERS for their gpus. Perhaps they'd already have some ARM socs running around like NV. Nvidia will be on rev 5 by the time they ship REV1! OUCH.

NV's market cap value now DWARFS AMD's. They now are getting close to matching AMD's revenue and don't yet sell CPU's. Just gpu's and socs. NV is about to enter the CPU market (servers and desktops/notebooks), with no debt and making profits which funds R&D not to mention 300mil from intel into 2016. The exact OPPOSITE of AMD's situation. AMD is going to have to borrow money again before Q1 to keep afloat (so said their CFO), which will of course have higher rates as they are junk status now. This is NOT a recipe for profits. Laying off 30% of your engineers is not a recipe for great products (it leads to crap drivers etc). Perhaps management wouldn't be saying they were 2yrs late to the ARM race (I say 3-4yrs, but whatever).

http://investing.money.msn.com/investments/financial-statements?symbol=amd
AMD 10yr summary. Lost 6Bil in 10yrs. That's bad right? Lost fabs. Lost austin land, lost cpu race, losing gpu race (no profit=losing, lost market share=losing). We can argue benchmarks all day, but at the end of the day the only thing that matters is market share and profits from that share.
AMD CPU=Losing Billions
INTEL CPU=making billions
AMD gpu=made >80mil.
NV gpu=making ~600mil+ (they are still losing money on Tegra so could be quite a bit higher but you get the point.).
AMD revenue sliding a billion a year for the last 3 years. NV growing. Same with Intel.
AMD share dilution 600mil to 700mil+ (since 2007). AMD assets from 12B to 4B over the same time. I can't come up with a good thing to say about AMD's financials no matter how hard I try and now the people investing in them are having problems (ATIC). They've poured so much money into GF/AMD they now have sent people to MONITOR GF business in house and have delayed Abu Dhabi plans for a fab. At some point if you're backers have troubles backing their OWN stuff, they will be forced to cut you off too. They have no choice.

I could go on but you should get the point already. The picture is NOT rosy.

TL;DR

i think Watch Dogs will be under TWIMTBP play banner. Watch Dogs and the latest splinter cell are rumored to be under AMD Gaming Evolved program but during E3 nvidia held a conference about their dedication to gaming and show a few games they are working with to incorporate their technology. the two was among the game they were working on.

Cant just name it in a way so its easy to know what it really is (low-mid-high tier)?
I guess ill wait for the reviews and then decide... no wait, i guess ill wait till there are games that demand an upgrade, since right now my old Q6600 with ddr2 and GTX 560 Ti can still play everything at full HD close to max settings.

We really need a new big step in performance. Something like Dx 12... and not only for Win8 or the net is going to explode with angry comments.
