Ok I just bought a radeon 7950 from msi that is factory overclocked. How would I start it up on my m5a97 when its not designed to support overclocking... Would there be problems or am I just worrying for no reason?

hey,

Assuming that you have a quality PSU with enough wattage and connectors to handle your system then you should be good to go. Your motherboard has a Pcie 2.0 x16 slot which is great. Also its only the graphics card that is overclocked, the type of motherboard has no impact on this (unless you don't have the right connector, which you do have). It is just the graphics card that is overclocked, the motherboard only affects CPU overclocking and has no impact on GPU overclocking.

Hope this clarifies things!
