I wanna know because I bought all my parts except for the video card!

I am going to get one of these cards to go with my build. This build will Not be used for gaming. It'l be used for video-editing with programs like Sony Vegas.

Which of these three video cards would you recommend is better?

ASUS HD 7770-2GD5
Sapphire HD 7770 GHz Edition 1GB
Sapphire Vapor-X 7770 GHz Edition

Also, which one would perform better paired with the AMD FX-8350 CPU and a GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3 AM3+ motherboard?

Here is my current build:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3-AM3+
CPU: AMD FX-8350
PSU: Corsair TX650
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB
Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB)
Case: Cooler Master HAF 912 RC-912-KKN1
Drive: Asus 24x DVD Burner

Which card is the best out of all these and which one would perform the best?

Last but not least, are all these 3 video cards I mentioned compatible with my build?

Sapphire Vapor-X 7770 GHz Edition is obviously the strongest.

But all will do nicely.

I am going to say this before a NVidia fanboy comes in here:
Sony Vegas uses OpenCL which executes significantly faster on AMD cards

I am a Nvidia fanboy! Half joking there, I am admittedly more biased towards Nvidia but I respect AMD. Anyways, I wouldn't get the HD 7770. For only 125 bucks, you could get the Sapphire HD 7790 here:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Obviously, it's a stronger card. so you should get that instead. It's only what 15 dollars more than the cheapest 7770 on your list. Get that instead.

AND hell yes you bet the card will be compatible. Heck, you could go Crossfire later on if you want.

I have three questions. Please answer!

1. Does the Sapphire Vapor-X 7770 have HD video or HD rendering with programs like Sony Vegas?

2. Is the Sapphire Vapor-X compatible with the rest of my build?

3. Is my whole build compatible with each other?

Please answer these! These are the last questions I need answered for confirmation!

Is the 7790 better than the Sapphire Vapor-X 7770 though? It seems that the Vapor-X 7770 has more positive reviews?

Why wouldn't you consider the HD 7790? it's the better card for a bare 15 dollars more and cheaper than even the Sapphire Vapor X 7770. It will be slightly better for you in Sony Vegas. (It's still an AMD card but has a more efficient architecture that's different from the HD 7770.) If you still insist on going the HD 7770, Yes it's a very modern card and can drive HD video and HD rendering with Sony Vegas.

AND yes the Sapphire Vapor X 7770 will be compatible with your build. You have the flagship AMD proc and a decent mobo to boot and 650W of pure wattage. It will work no problems. And the whole is inter compatible yes. I don't want to give you the long reason, but it is. These are all modern parts and the most problematic ones (CPU mobo and RAM) is already compatible so no worries.

The HD 7790 is better and is still made by Sapphire. Whether your getting either one, they are both made by Sapphire and AMD. And Newegg reviews are just biased. They are not reliable. I highly doubt you will get a defective card. They are very rare. Remember, the manufacturers do test them before they are shipped out.

Thank you for your input! But is the HD 7790 compatible with my build as well?

And is the HD 7790 better than the Sapphire Vapor-X 7770? Which one is better and stronger?

These are the last two questions I need answered!

The HD 7790 is going to compatible as well (I stated that earlier as well). The HD 7790 is better than the HD 7770. Just look at the nomenclature - the 7790 as a number is clearly bigger than 7770. Common sense. To compare specs:

The main difference is the stream processor (core) count. 896 for the HD 7790 vs 640 on the HD 7770. Plus a more efficient architecture overall will put the HD 7790 in 7850 performance territory.

Yes the 7790 is faster.
Both cards are compatible and support openCL so it will accelerate sony vegas.
