Hey guys i'm new to all of this so please excuse my lack of knowledge with video cards. So right now I want to upgrade my current card to a better one with a $100 budget i'd like to keep under. I'm currently using a Nvidia Quadro FX 3450/4000 SDI, i'm not a hardcore gamer and most of my games just need to be the same or slightly better than the Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT. I've had my eye set on the GTX 460, but the max watts on my PSU is 375W. Well i'm assuming it is because it says max output on the sticker so.. yeah. I'm also considering the GeForce GT 610 2GB DDR3 but read a few reviews and heard that it performs poorly? So does anyone have recommendations? It doesn't have to be amazing fast, just the same or better than the 8800 GT. And below is a picture of the sticker of my PSU, so think i'm correct about the max 375W?

Alright thanks for the recommendation but how does it run off your 300W PSU when it requires a min. of 400W?

AMD just suggests that much power so they can't be held liable if you fry your computer. It only uses around 50w which is extremely low.

Also, you may be able to get away with an HD 7770 that is faster for just a little more: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

If I may suggest Ivan, since I am an Nvidia fan myself not a hater of AMD - It always end up on the performance and the best that you can get within a budget, so I suggest you could go with Nvidia GTX650 - (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...) and if you're an AMD fan go with what the buddy said above and One more thing I forgot to add, I believe to be on the safe side since your PSU is only 375W instead of 7770 which does require a minimum of 400 but you can run it but to be on the safer side you should go with AMD 6670 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...) -- You will be safer with this and it is a good card, My cousin used this on a 375W PSU and it is perfectly stable.

Ok, why would he pick a 6670 over a 7750? Also, that 400w minimum is BS. If his power supply is 375w then he could use any of those cards. (provided he has the pci-e power connectors)

@Ivan Ho If you want to be absolute safe you can go with a 7750 even though a 375w PSU could handle any of those cards. I think it would be best to figure exactly how many watts your PSU can provide (which I don't know) before making an absolute decision.

Let him decide what he will choose, I am only suggesting something which I have seen with my own eyes. If I had been in his place I would buy something which is safe and stable and I know HD6670 is stable with 375W PSU and it can play most games from Med-to-High within that budget plus it's below $100 price.

Well I have a 7750 on a 300w PSU which is my point in the matter and I do agree that it is his decision ultimately.

I checked the back and it has a 6 pin connector that is going into my FX 3450 so i think I can handle the cards you guys suggested as long it they also have a 6 pin connection? Thanks for all the suggestions !
