Hi i have a AMD Phenom II x4 955 processor but i want to get intel, so i have three questions. 1. What intel processor is same/similar to this one? 2. Which one is better, faster....? 3. Do i have to change something else if I want to get better processor, or i just buy new one and put it in?

Switching to an Intel chip would require a new motherboard as well, most modern Intel chips are better then the old 955.

It really depends on your budget and what you do with your system when it comes to what we can recommend.

youd need a new motherboard at the very least, as it will be a different socket,

whats you budget?

Well the i5 3570k is £178 on scan.co.uk
i7 may be pushing it abit at 300,

this leaves you quite abit to find a decent mobo such as
Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H
which is £77 off scan,

and then you would be sorted :)

this would be alot quicker than your current CPU and leaves you able to upgrade in the future such as the GPU and RAM,

however the prices have been reduced as the new processors have just come out (1150 socket) and therefore this would reduce your upgrade route in terms of moving to haswell, which would require a new cpu and mobo again,

but for your budget the 3570k and mobo would be a good idea

Hey
what you think about haswell..?
Go with
Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor £189.59 Aria PC
mobo
Gigabyte GA-Z87X-D3H ATX LGA1150 Motherboard £122.24 Scan.co.uk
total £311.83
here is £12 more but is worth for money. Both parts are of best quality and best brand and performance components. You can overclock it with a decent cpu cooler. One thing more it is latest gen parts so you will never need to upgrade it least 2-3 years.
I hope you can manage that money.
Hope it helps.
Thank you.
