Hey guys, Ive never used this site so Im sorry if I post in the wrong spot. Anyways Im building my first gaming computer, my knowledge of building pc"s stems from the last couple of days, so...not experienced at all. Id like to post my first draft of parts that I want to buy and see what you all think since Im sure most are more experienced than me. For cpu if i could afford it I know intels usually the way to go, but thats not in my budget so Im sticking with AMD. Last thing is I want to make sure all these parts are compatible and Im on a budget so 750 is the max I can go. So Id appreciate anyones opinion on this "draft rig". After this I'll likely post again with the links to make comparing easier but for now ill just put out the names, hope thats ok. Thanks!

You cannot use a 1155 socket board with an AMD FX processor. That is an Intel board. You need an AM3+ socket motherboard for that series of AMD processors. The rest of the build will work.

But you should be able to put together an Intel build for $750 of equal performance as well.

Btw, if you get an older AM3+ motherboard designed for the Bulldozer line of processors, it may not have a BIOS updated for the newer Vishera processors like your FX-6300. As a result it would not recognize the FX-6300. You would then need an older processor installed to update the BIOS to the later version before you could use the FX-6300. Therefore, save yourself some (possible) misery and look for a motherboard with a 900 series chipset. 970, 990X, 990FX. They will have more recent BIOS versions that will work with the FX-6300.

Awesome, great advice. I definately want to avoid that headache, that would have sucked. Also took your advice on the Intel route, and put together a decent package (around 770) so i may choose that instead. We'll see but thanks again mate saved me time and confusion!
