Hello, I recently did my first build and experimented overclocking to see the limits of my rig.

Build:

Intel Core i7 3770k Ivy bridge @ 3.5GHz

Kingston HyperX 1600 9-9-9-27

MSI Gaming N770 Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 2GB O.C.

Samsung 830 SSD 256GB

MSI Z77A-G45

Rosewill Hive 750W

Western Digital WD Blue 1TB @ 7200RPM

Cooler Master GeminII S524 with 140mm fan

Artic MX-2

Coollaboratory Liquid Ultra on delidded CPU die

NZXT Source 210 with 4 case fans.

Results: ON AIR
I was able to push my 3770k to 4.7 GHz @ 1.275v under 80C with prime95. I tested several intervals for long hours to confirm that it is stable. However, I couldn't get 4.8 GHz with any combination of volts. [C1E, C State, Turbo] disabled, Vdroop 100%. Went back to 4.7 GHz @1.275v and was fine so I'm guessing my limit is 4.7 GHz.

Also, messed with overclocking RAM and got my 1600 CL9 to 1866 CL10.

Your thoughts and opinions of my first build/overclock?

Anything over 4500 MHz is pretty good and it sounds like you put in some decent testing to verify that it is stable.

I'm a bit uncertain of the quality of that PSU though, I don't believe they have a good 'safety' track record.
