first, my specs:
i5-3570k (4300 MHz)
8 gb ram
z77 extreme4 mobo
1tb 7200 hdd
radeon 7770 in crossfire
thermaltake tr2 500w

ok, so a couple of days ago, i was watching a movie and my PC was idling. suddenly, it shut down and wouldn't turn back on (this is known to occur abnormally with this specific PSU). so the PSU had failed and took the motherboard with it. now, i'm scared that since my motherboard died, my expensive processor and video cards are dead as well. i obviously haven't gotten a new mobo yet, but i'm just anxious. could they be dead?

Possibly, can always pull them and try in another rig (CPU may be harder than video card, ram, etc),,,,find a friend, co worker that a recent computer and can try most all components in it - many aren't going to want to let you pull their CPU to test yours, byut the DRAM , Video should be OK with
