Hello,

Im looking to buy a card to replace my SLI nvidia 8800gts 512 which recently died.

I have looked around and have chosen a xfx radeon 7850 2gb as the replacement, but i have found a problem. There seem to be for sale the same card on ebay and on scan with the same model number but one has 2 x dvi ports and one has just 1, why is this? They both have the manufacturer code of FX-785A-CNJC

1 x port

2 x port

Also, in your opinion is the 7850 2gb a good card? is it as powerful as the cards i had before in SLI? Are there other cards of same or lesser price which would be more effective?

One card is a HD 7850 and another is a HD 7870 and the 7870 version is a updated and slightly better version of the two. the HD 7870 performs 20% better and has an extra 256 shaders. go with the 7870 in my opinion as it is alot better.

Sam, your link is broken, mate.

Seems like those prices just keep falling!
Personally I'm too lazy to go shopping for you ;) but that HD7870GHz found by Huilun02 is sweet, dead compact and should be quiet, too.
Performance wise the 7870 should eat just about everything out there for breakfast at that resolution and will really shine when you start adding high end effects (particularly anti aliasing).

BTW, for 1440x900, is the 650 sufficient or should I go for the Ti version? I would be saving quite a bit of money, so I'd want to buy the 650 if I can help it.

BTW, I do not want to go for an AMD card at all.
