No problem with mobile phone but asked for it on netbook. How do I get this?

Most hotspots which allow free public access will have staff who know the security key - ask one of them. Maybe your netbook has security settings that won't allow you to connect to an insecure network.

The password you set on the mobile when you created the hotspot is the one the laptop needs and because you created it, you can change it without needing the original. Keep it simple - only you will ever need to use it or offer it to someone else. Change it after doing that, of course.
