I will be building my a pc soon which will mainly be used for gaming. the probable specs are below:

CPU: AMD fx-8350
Motherboard: AsRock 990fx Extreme3 AM3+
RAM: (that's the point of this thread)
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB
PSU: Corsair GS800
video card: MSI HD7870-OC (later to get another for CrossFireX)
Case: Cooler Master HAF 912 combat

and a TP-Link wireless card and a couple more fans for the case.

I have monitor and keyboard+mouse, i dont need an OS.

I need to choose what RAM to get for my build. I am looking at the Patriot IEM blue DDR3-1600 4GBx2, it costs $71 where i live. an alternative is G.Skill ripjaws X DDR3-1600 4GBx2 kit. it costs $77, i would prefer the patriot as i have had good experiences with patriot and its cheaper

When two or more memory have the same memory specs but different price, go with the lowest priced memory. You will saving some dollars and getting the same performance as the higher priced memory. In your case, since you already have a good experience using Patriot i'd say go with it.

Seriously doubt if same ICs and it would depend on the GSkill set, they and I believe Patriot also have a number of 2x4GB 1600 sets, know I just picked up a set of 1600/CL8 at that price from the Egg, so if Patriots are CL9 the the RJs would be the better set
