Hi. I am redoing my thread with hope that it has more information for those who wish to help.

This will become my first self-built PC, and in the next month I will be building a budget PC at around $500 to be able to do things such as play ArmaII and 3D rendering in later months, and upgrading will happen at some point.
I do not know the difference between an Intel or AMD CPU, so I made a build with both.

My AMD build-
CPU: AMD A10-6800K 4.1GHz quad core (149.99)
CPU cooler: Gelid Solutions CC-Siberian-01 51.9 CFM (9.99)
Motherboard: ASRock FM2A85X Extreme4 ATX FM2 (89.99)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3-1600 (76.99)
Storage: Kingston SSDNow V200 series 64GB 2.5" SSD (52.99)
Video card: MSI GeForce 630 4GB (79.99)
PSU: Athena power 350W ATX (19.98)
Case: Thermal take commander MS/I snow edition (39.99)

Total: 519.91
Total with m.i.r. and combo discounts: 481.91

My Intel build-
CPU: Intel core i5-3470 3.2GHz quad core (199.99)
CPU cooler: cooler master DP6-9EDSA-0L-GP (6.99)
Motherboard: MSI B75A-G43 ATX LGA115 (74.99)
Memory: AMD Entertainment Edition 2x2GB DDR3-1333 (33.96)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM HDD (54.95)
Video card: PowerColor Radeon HD7750 4GB (93.98)
PSU: Diablotek 350W ATX (39.99)
Case: Rosewill CHALLENGER ATX (16.99)

Total: 542.85
Total with m.i.r.: 527.85

Approximate Purchase Date: Late July/ early August

Budget Range: $450-$500

System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming, 3d rendering, web browsing, office

Parts Not Required: Case & PSU (HHD too if necessary to afford better parts)

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: no preference

Country: United States

Parts Preferences: no preference but price and performance

Overclocking: Nope

Monitor Resolution: two at around 1280x1024

Additional Comments: Should I go with an Intel or AMD build?
I will eventually be upgrading the CPU and graphics card for better rendering
I appreciate any recommendations.

One thing I noticed you did not mention if you needed a new OS which is $100. the intel build is better but you may want to consider a phenom an amd build because gaming is typically more gpu reliant.

Edit: are you near a microcenter? also your psus are not very good

Thank you for your reply. So, AMD is more budget friendy. I didn't know gaming was more GPU than CPU. I know I will upgrade more powerful CPU and GPU in november-december when thee are discounts and deals going on.

I didn't mention an OS because I'm not sure if I will use something as simple as windows XP, as pricey as windows 8, or complicated and not very pricey Linux.
I decided to add PSUs to the build because I wold rather start fresh, but I have cases ranging from mid tower to full tower, and PSUs that range from 300W to 430W. I also have an old HDD that can work but would need replacing.

Is there anything else i should consider getting instead if I do not need a case, PSU or HDD?
