Upgrading Gaming comp

I'm looking to upgrade my system right now as it sits
Mobo: GA-870A-USB3
Cpu: Phenom II X6 1055T(2.8GHz)
Gpu: AMD Radeon HD 6950 (2 GB)
800 watt psu
4x2gb sticks of 1333 ddr3

Right now I'm looking at changing the gpu out for a gigabyte radeon hd 7870 and the cpu out for either a AMD FX-8150 Zambezi 3.6GHz Socket AM3+ 125W Eight-Core or a AMD FX-8350 Vishera 4.0GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W Eight-Core but have absolutely no idea what to do with the memory. Any thoughts?

There is a Rev 3.0 and 3.1 of the GA-870A-USB3. I would suggest you check the CPU Support List for whichever model you have, as I don't see either CPU you list as being supported.

I have the rev 3.1 so it says it supports amd am3+ processors, would that mean it supports any am3+ or jus the phenom II and Athlon II?
