Before answering bear in mind that I am using 1280x1024 resolution because I have a small monitor.

This card will be used for gaming.

If I were to buy the 7790 it would be the Sapphire Dual-X OC Edition.

For the 7850 I'm not sure whether I want to get the 1GB Sapphire Version.

Or the 2GB Sapphire OC Edition.

The 1GB and 2GB cards of the 7850 don't have anything different really other than the memory. The reason I can't decide which I want is because my resolution is so low I feel like the extra memory isn't going to help me.

On that note the 7790 has much higher speeds overall but seems to still not be as good as the 7850 versions. I'm not really sure what I should be looking for more out of my card.

I'd appreciate your input!

~Thanks

Go for the 7850. It is also good for overclocking. If you're not planning to get a new monitor anytime soon just go with the 1 GB but if the price difference is neglectable between the 2 gb and 1 gb it speaks for itself.
