How good is this build and are all the parts compatible with each other? I'm wondering about the motherboard, I heard ASUS should be the choice? Also, do I need to get Case Fans, or are they not necessary with a liquid cooling system? Price is not an issue.

they are all compatible each other

but GTX 690 era is over, and fyi renderin only optimize one card, not SLI system
so going with strong single card will be a very wise move

Well I heard it was the best GPU on the planet (could be wrong), I don't mind settling for the second best. Is GTX 780 the second best? I care about FPS a lot.

well yes gtx 690 is (still) the best one card (2 gpu inside) on the planet

while GTX 780 is the new generation single GPU, read the review below for single GPU and SLI

you can always buy 2x GTX 780 if you really want very high fps performance
