Hello wonderful people of Tom's Hardware!

This is my first time every building my own custom gaming PC and I have some questions regarding compatibility and overall build quality. My currently planned build is:

- [Case] Fractal Design Define R4 Black Pearl w/ USB 3.0 ATX:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811352020

- [CPU] Intel Core i7-3770K Ivy Bridge 3.5GHz (3.9GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Desktop Processor:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116501

- [GPU] (Already Owned) EVGA GTX 660 ti SC Edition:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130810

- [MOBO] ASUS SABERTOOTH Z87 LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131976

- [PSU] NZXT HALE82 HALE82-750-M 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Certified 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Power Supply:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817116015

- [RAM] CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233143

- [Water Cooler] CORSAIR Hydro Series H100 (CWCH100) Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181017

- [SSD] SAMSUNG 830 Series MZ-7PC256B/WW 2.5" 256GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD):
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147164

So essentially what I am asking is, are all of these parts compatible with each other? Does the motherboard support all of the essential things this build has? Is the PSU wattage enough? Ect.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Ok well it does look like a solid build but there are some serious and potentially fatal flaws with it.

The CPU you've chosen is an LGA 1155 socket. your motherboard is for the newer intel processors, aka LGA 1150. That cpu will not fit in that motherboard.

So either get the Z77 motherboard for that cpu or get the newer i7-4770k that will fit the Z87 one you've chosen.

Also with the cpu cooler, I would suggest the H100i over the H100. It's newer, cheaper, better built, and performs better, not to mention you can control all the fans and stuff in windows with Corsair's Link software.

That is an 1155 socket cpu. you either need a z77 motherboard or the newer i7-4770K.

But what exactly do you plan on using this PC for? That system might be a little overkill for just gaming.

Thanks for the speedy reply! I might go with the newer CPU then, although I have heard that Haswell runs a lot hotter than ivy bridge. Though, that might not be a problem if I am going water cooled. Thanks for pointing out that noob mistake, that could have been bad...

Also, if I wanted to SLI later on, does the PSU and Motherboard have all the nessesary attributes?

Don't mention it :)
Well I've just built a mate a PC with the new i7-4770 with a H80i (half-size radiator to the H100i) and am getting around 36-37 degrees idle and 60's after running prime95 stress test for a while... so the H100i should even do better than that :)

Just my two cents, but getting the same motherboard you suggested but the 1155 version (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131821) is a better plan. If the CPU is cooler on its stock settings then it'll be able to handle higher overclocking. Since you've got watercooling, it seems that overclocking is something you're considering. You'll be able to reach higher clocks on 3rd gen, that's for sure.

I have decided to go for the 1155 version of my original motherboard and the 3rd generation Intel 3770k. I will also have to check out that H100i water cooler :D

Thanks everyone for the useful replies!
