First gaming rig for BF3 and FFXIV

I am building my first gaming rig already settled on case and power supply. I am aiming on being able to play BF3 on high to ultra and FFXIV on ultra with smooth frame rates. I have picked out these for the mobo, CPU, and gpu:

CPU- amd vishera fx-6300 6 core
Mobo - gigabyte ga-970a-ud3
Gpu - gigabyte gtx 660 2gb 192bit gddr5
Mem - 8gb g.Skillz ripjaws x series 240 pin 1600

Is this config capable of what I'm looking for? And is it all compatible for that matter?

I am somewhat on a budget and spending $100 - $200 more on a CPU (i5- 3450 or i5-2550k) that benchmarks only slightly better than the one I picked out doesn't seem like a good move. Also during my research I found that alot of the intel chipsets and socket types are different.

AMD has support for the same socket type (AM3+), which makes buying a motherboard with that socket type a better investment so if I do upgrade my CPU I wont have to buy a new motherboard as well.
