I'm buying a new laptop and have been looking at MSI. Prolly going to choose between the MSI GE60 and MSI GT60. Not to much of a difference between the laptops except for the gpu on each. After reading about the gtx765 vs gtx770 there are some differences and a lot of reviews say the 770m has a 10% gain over the 680m and is good bit faster than the 765m. On games 770 consistently averaged about 10 fps more than the 765.

So, the MSI GE60 has the 765m and is 1171$ where as the MSI GT60 has the 770m and is 1324$. My question is it worth it to spend 150$ more to get the 770. Thanks.

Also, will the 770m bottle neck the intel 4 i7 4700mq?

I have an ASUS G750JX with the 4700MQ and 770M, and I'm not having any bottleneck/performance issues with it. I'm playing most games (BF3, Blacklist, Natural Selection 2.) at more than an acceptable framerate (NS2 was lowest at 50-55 fps, but NS2 isn't as optimized for mobile GPUs being an "indie" game) maxed out. notebookcheck corroborates what you're reading though, that the 770M outperforms the 765 by about 10-15% depending on the game. It really depends on how much you're willing to spend. That extra $150 could mean the difference of a few more years of effectiveness from your laptop video card over the 765, so you have to decide if that's an investment you want to make. I was fighting over the same decision between the G750JW and the G750JX, and went with the 770M solution because of that.
