Hi. Im selling my functional Asus G60VX Republic of Gamers Edition laptop. Specs:

- core 2 duo 2.13 ghz (UPGRADABLE to 3ghz)

It served me well. But I want something more portable for school.

You may pick it up (Cleveland , Ohio) . Or, I can ship it .

Maybe... Can you send the payment via Western Union? Also, you'd have to cover shipping, which im guessing would be around 50, though i could be wrong.

I was under the impression that selling overseas w paypal is risky because the buyer can claim to have never received the item, get refunded by paypal (leaving me without a payment after ive shipped the item) and avoid responsibility due to being in another country.

I dont see any way around this. Can you please clarify?

You do realize that in the rules of this specific tomshardware forum it states that PayPal is the only payment option that is recommended?

Hate to say it but the OP has a point, it's dangerous to use PayPal with oversea transactions. PayPal is recommended or required..?

If that is true then I would never ever sell anything overseas. PayPal or forget it. PayPal is the only payment option recommended on this site. Is it required? No but anything else just sounds odd.

It is very true, look on Ebay for the amount of people that WILL NOT ship overseas and i promise you its for that specific reason. Also that is the mindset of many other people also, if you arent comfortable without PayPal then just don't sell.

In my case, the point is now moot considering I sold the Asus locally to a friend.

BTW I have used Western Union to buy a video card from a distant craigslist seller, based on only a feeling of trust. It worked out .

Borders shouldn't make any difference in a perfect world. But we try to be safe .

There could have been a chance for me to ship overseas with Paypal, had I developed a rapport with Ramazan007. But we never spoke over the phone. Whether he knows it or not, I offered to give my phone number, and yet I received no request to provide it.

Good luck.

Then what is so different with Western Union? Don't they do the same thing that PayPal does? Do they not cancel payments if the person calls and states that they never received the product?
