I'm completely new to the in depth side of hardware and I'm looking to build a high end PC for Gaming, HD video editing and HD live streaming (sometimes all 3 at once). Basically i have drawn up a list of components that i see as being good for what i want. However, i would appreciate someone with far superior knowledge in the area to have a look and see if they are A)all compatible and B)if there are better alternatives already on the market at a similar price (slightly more expensive is ok). Also i wish to have some headroom to be allowed to overclock 10-15% (not sure how demanding 10-15% would be but as im not greatly experienced i'd not want to push it too much.

ASUS Rampage IV Extreme Motherboard

i7-3930K

Corsair Hydro Series H110 High Performance 280mm Liquid CPU Cooler

GTX 770 4GB

Corsair Vengeance Pro Red 16GB (2x8GB) 2400MHz DDR3 RAM

OCZ Vertex 4 256GB SSD (for OS and programs)

Western Digital VelociRaptor 1TB HDD 10,000rpm

I'm unsure as to what Wattage PSU i'll require for this and also, would love to hear recommendations for good cases.

So yea, if there are better components to any of the ones i have listed at a similar price, what wattage power supply, good case and if there is any components i am forgetting about (except for DVD drive which i already have sorted) please let me know.

Thanks

That build is great and all seems compatible but considering you are spending so much on cpu and cooler i would consider getting the GTX 780 instead of 770 but obviously that's your choice. I think that a 1000w psu would be needed and i would recommend possibly getting a h100 or h100i so that you have more cases of choice. If you do change cpu cooler that i would recommend the NZXT Phantom because i don't think it supports 280mm radiators but i only have the 410 so another version of it might.

Thanks, that looks like a nice spacious case, would a GTX 780 3GB GDDR5 make much difference compared to a GTX 770 4GB GDDR5 (i want high end graphics but doesn't have to be the best graphics, im more focused on being able to livestream, record, maybe video editing and game all at the same time without the computer becoming sluggish

you can use this website to look at the difference

I just thought as been as you were paying out a lot for the rest you may as well go all out because it would last longer. The GTX 780 is only slightly slower that the GTX Titan but with a £300 lower price tag. If you are not particularly bothered about the best graphics then i would stick to the 770 as it should be enough for you.

That sites very useful, although i'll be gaming on the PC alot, i'd be rendering on sony vegas more. That site shows under GPU compute for sony vegas the AMD Radeon HD 7970 takes 26 seconds to render a clip that the GTX 770 takes 44 seconds to render. At a cheaper price aswel, maybe i might change from the GTX 770 and end up getting the AMD Radeon HD 7970
