Hello,

I lost my CPU and mobo due to damage and am looking for a replacement. I am budgeting under $600 and my goals are gaming at top settings and livestreaming at the same time. I like to livestream at high resolutions and I have been told this is CPU intensive.

I was going to buy the i7-4770k but I learned about the amd 8350 and the difference in price would allow me to purchase a second superclocked 650ti boost to run SLI (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130910).

What would I see better performance with for gaming and streaming, the i7 or the 8350 with dual GPUs?

Thanks

This really depends on how you feel about AMD. I have a few friends that have used that processor and ran into a few problems with it. On the other hand, I have a lot more friends that are using the Sandy Bridge or Ivy Bridge i7 and love them! Intel seems to construct better quality CPU's. This can be seen in the benchmarks. The Haswell (i7 4770K) chips are pretty new, but what I do know about them, is that they perform about 10% better than the Ivy Bridge (i7 3770K). Comparing the FX 8350 core for core with the Ivy Bridge i7, there is little that the FX 8350 does better. Only thing it has is better overclocking abilities. In single core and multicore threads, the i7's significantly out-perform the AMD chip. I would recommend the i7 (Ivy Bridge or Haswell). It will work perfect for multithreaded workloads such as simultaneous HD gaming/streaming! Hope this helps.
