RE:: DVD RW not reading

DVD RW is only reading the cd's but when I go to play a movie it doesn't read it. I have checked the device manager to check the status of the drive and it says working properly. I tried to update the driver but the current driver is the best one.

You can try to uninstall the current driver, then reinstall the driver try

I have tried to uninstall the current driver then rebooted the PC, but to no avail. It still doesn't read the DVD's. The PC is running Windows 7 Home Premium. It is a refurbished Dell 745 Optiplex Tower Computer, Featuring Intel's Powerful 3.4GHz Pentium D

Do you have codecs installed, for example CCCP http://www.cccp-project.net/?
