Water cooling for my workstation, need opinion/advice

Hi,
Want to replace air cooling with water cooling cos now my workstation is way too loud when rendering.

Components:
MOBO: Intel S5520SC
CPU: 2x Xeon 5647 (socket 1366)
GPU: Quadro 6000

I didn't make water cooling system before. I looked all over for info about water cooling so I know few things already.

Have made some planning how tubing will go:
(will be huge hall in front of the case for air intake also)

Planning to add:
2x D5 pumps for redundancy.
2x Phobya CPU-Cooler UC-2 LT Intel 775,1155,1156,1366,2011 - Black Edition
1x AquagraFX for Quadro 6000
1x Phobya G-Changer 420 Ver. 1.2 Black (3 x 140mm fans)
Optional 1x 12 mm or 2x 12 mm Radiator for VGA (see picture)

Need advice for most silent 14 cm fans there is (price doesn't matter)

Think I'll go for 13mm/10mm tubing (need advice on this also)
Good coolant required also, name best U know.

Didn't decided witch reservoir I'll go with also.

Can I plug fans from radiators in to PCU fan slot on the motherboard, also on VGA? That way I think I'll get auto fan control and don't need extra fan control (hope this doesn't sound stupid..).

What U think? Only one triple 14 cm radiator will be enough for silent workstation?
Case doesn't matter, will be custom case as large as I need to fit everything, it will have sound isolation everywhere inside. I'm not going for look, performance and silents is most important.

What case do you have?
Get bigger rad if it fits to case. 4* 140mm rad is good. I like alphacools 560 rad. 60mm thick is really performing well.
Good silent 140mm fan is this: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/10211/fan-655/Noisebl...

Here is the rad 420: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/16826/ex-rad-427/Alph...

560: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/16827/ex-rad-428/Alph...

19/13 tube is better. Good tubing is tygon 3603 or Primochill.
Do not buy Tygon Norprene that is total waist of money.

Put fans to mother bord connectors or buy controller.

My case will be fully custom (made as big as I need)

To plug fans in MOBO its not required 4 pin fans?

Found this bundle:

Do I need extra RAD for GPU for more silent rig?

You are building full case? So then you get rad like this:
http://www.frozencpu.com/products/19813/ex-rad-601/Wate...

And you do not need to worry about cooling the video card :)

9*140mm version http://www.frozencpu.com/products/12552/ex-rad-211/Wate...

Well, its huge alright :D  My goal is to make it so silent, that I can't hear it at all, AT ALL while rendering. Is it possible? Will put heavy sound isolation inside case and around fans to reduce noise. Didn't decided about case size, and I don't care, cos it will be in one place and I do not move it. So I make it as big as I need.

I read that best rads are made from copper, Alphacool NexXxoS Monsta 560mm is from copper. I don't want to put rads on side, I want to put them on the top of case (heat rises up, so that means lower fan rpm). If I use one Alphacool NexXxoS Monsta 560mm rad I can make that I do not hear my rig AT ALL?
If not than TWO Alphacool NexXxoS Monsta 420mm side by side will do the trick?

One more thing: can I split from MOBO CPU fan slot in to 3x 14cm fans from one slot? Is it possible?

Sure one rad is good two is better. But that mora3 is cheap if you think two rads. And it is cheaper buy 120mm fan than 140mm ? and that mora 3 do not need any fans. Sure you can put there like 3 120mm fans justto make sure. But really you do not ever need them.

And if you go to NexXxoS take monsta rad. That is 80mm thick.

And this is cheap diy case rad? http://www.frozencpu.com/products/12486/ex-rad-207/Magi...

Well, actually I don't mind putting few fans, just to cool my case (mobo and ram is producing heat) in same time blow air to rads from case. Those Noiseblocker NB-BlackSilentPRO PK1 are silent as I read. Why 14 cm instead 12 cm fans? Same reason: bigger fan, lower RPM = less noise.

What U think about this idea?

(2 x triple or quadruple MONSTA 14 cm RADS)
And yes, I'm considering only MONSTA radiators cos they are big and have good specs.

120mm fans are silent. The 140mm are not so much more silent.

Idea is not working in my mind. Heat is going up from lower rad to upper rad. And there is 3 fans making noise.

Lets plan a bit. Make case from wood. That way you can do it fit any rad.
Here is one

maybe I need to draw what I mean :D

If you buy this. You can put rad top of this unit. Just trow in ur mobo and other stuff. DVD front (you need to make shell for that) or something And Buy some wood to make hole covered.

Or you buy some wood from store and make just way you want it.
You can make case out of this wood. or if you find something cheaper.. then use it.

Actually my plan is to weld cage from L aluminum profile (3 cm x 3 cm 3 mm) about 30 cm x 60 cm x 60 cm (at first I need to decide how big radiator will be). Than cut with laser and bend aluminum plate for mobo and PCI express slots cover. Other parts will be aluminum or PVC, and will attach to cage. Well, I prepared to invest in this, but I need to be shure that my rig will not cos any noise, I mean NO NOISE AT ALL :)  For now I'm making my rig in 3D like real world scale, than I will try to fit everything (altho I sed it can be any size, but I want it to be as optimised as it can be). My main concern is how many and how big radiators do I need.

Probably I will go with this reservoir cos it supports dual D5, and don't need extra hardware:
http://www.frozencpu.com/products/16820/ex-res-414/#bla...

I think for now I have everything answered for water cooling except how big rads do I need to make it silent? If U say 12 cm fans is fine than ideal for me will be 2 x triple 12 cm Monsta rads (I have design in my mind how my case will look like and I would like to keep that way, but will change if it will not be silent enough).
http://www.alphacool.com/product_info.php/info/p975_Alp...

Well my idea is to modify this design to my needs:
http://www.tweaktown.com/pressrelease/6346/nzxt_phantom...

I'm half life fan, so I even considering making something like this:

http://images.wikia.com/half-life/en/images/3/3c/Razor_...

http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100123173062/ha...

But for workstation I think its too match.. :)

12cm fans are really silent. For example Scythe Gentle Typhoon 1150rpm or slower rpm.
Then two triple rad maybe best for you. it is bit hard to know how hot your build will come with two cpu.
But I think you get silent build with two triple rad or with bigger ones. Silence is such a subjective concept.
I think silent build do have one silent 120-140mm fan + psu fan. Now what you think is silent?

This res is not really a good choice. bay res do leak too often. Take big tube res.. or two.

Make it like 10cm longer. Then you have better room for bigger rad + res.
You can weld aluminum? Nice :)  That train is looking cool. But case.. Well Id do case look more that tunnel where train is coming.. But your build. Hope you post 3D model then we can think what is best for cool this monster :)

From this you can pick idea or two.

Silents is when I don't hear it at all at night when rendering :)  Not leaving my mind your suggested 9 x 14 mm rad, I think it on top of the case will make huge different even compared to 2 triple 12 cm Monsta, what do you think?.

I like this reservoir cos it has built in 2 D5 pump slots to work as one (don't have to spend ridicules amount of money for 2 D5 pumps head to work as one + reservoir and connectors). But I appreciate that you warned me. I will put it away from PC components and even cover it with extra water proof layer.
P.S. if you know other, better reservoir for double D5 please let me know.

Yes, I can weld aluminum. And I will not start building my case until I don't decided or have all water cooling components. For now in my mind there is 2 layouts: 1. with 9x 14 cm rad on top (cube shape case), 2. tower shape case with 2 side by side triple 12 cm Monsta on top. I think will get all components except rads, buy some old car air conditioning and try to connect everything cos I don't see any other way to find out how big rads do I need.

Last night I made real scale 3D layout, hope to upload some of it this evening or tomorrow.
And thank you for link, it was good inspiration, although I will use 1 cm or 1,5 cm PVC (thin PVC looks cheap and I don't trust it for securing my rig).
