WD Passport works on Blu Ray DVD player but not my laptop!

So I have had my passport for a few years now and its been working fine until t he other day. I did some research and did discover that I had been disconnecting the HD the wrong way and may have got something wrong with the "tables."

However, it works fine through the USB port on my DVD Blu Ray player. I can access all my audio and vid files but it doesnt work on my laptop. It comes up as Local Disk and a popup comes up and says: "A problem occured during installation. Your device might not work properly."

Help please?

Run this command on CMD : chkdsk X: /f/r (X is the drive letter, yours may be different). See how it works.

Glad to help you. Remember always to disconnect the HDD in right way by right clicking the HDD and to press the eject button. Cheers.
