do i need 2-8 pin power supply connectors

hi, I am building a new rig with the motherboard msi z87 MPower, i7 4770k and a corsair 80i or 90 (not sure yet). I want to overclock the cpu to 4.6-5ghz. do I need the 2-8 pin power supply connectors. And can you help me choose which cooler will be better.

One is normally sufficient, if going an air cooler, would suggest the Hyper 212 EVO, matches up closely to the H100 liquid coolers and has an adjustable fan in the event you have DRAM with tall heat sinks, also comes with a bracket that allows you to add a second fan

But with 2-8pin power supply connectors will it be easier to overclock to 4.7-5ghz, would it keep the temps down and will it be even more stable. The reason I want to get the corsair h80i or h90 is because some guy in an review with the same motherboard and cpu and cooler got 5ghz stable. But on the review it doesn't say if he used 2-8 pin power supply connectors. Thanks for helping.
