whats a good intel cpu for gaming

basicly I fried my 6 year old motherboard which took amd processers, so im getting a new motherboard, power supply, case and cpu and plan on switching to intel. after I spend the money on the rest of the stuff I will have about 300 bucks left. at the moment I have a gforce gtx 670 and my old cpu was a amd phenom X4 ll 965 and I didn't feel like it was keeping up very well with the 670. and also in the future I may end up buying a titan and id like it not to bottleneck if that's possible. sorry if im not very good at explaining. thanks for the input guys/girls

Well.. you might as well get the best and newest I5, with OC. Remember to get one with a K in its name. It's only 20 bucks more than last GEN. I7 is more than you need.

BTW, I would wait till cyber Monday to buy. I got my PC for 340 dollars.

You need to find the model numbers on the internet before you use the picker site. I would look for an i5-4670K. Just search the list and pick a good MOBO!

GHZ doesn't matter as much anymore. You need to look at benchmarks to see how it performs. Almost all Intel CPU's have great single core performance in games, while the AMD CPU's have better multicore performance. Newer games will probably run better on AMD because of contracts with Sony and Microsoft; the new consoles use AMD hardware. Intel is the King for now. Any I5 or I7 should be enough.
