Hi
My current build is:
cpu: i7 2600 (no k) cooled by corsair h60
mob: asus maximus iv gene-z with only 2.0 pcie support
ram: 16 gb ram 1600mhz
gpu: ati radeon 6970 hd 2gb sapphire edition
HDD and SSD: 2tb + samsung 840 pro 128 gb

So. My question is. Would i be able to put gtx 780 on this motherboard ? Im buying this graphic card but im doubtable about this. Will this work on pcie 2.0?
ps: would i be able to play bf4 on ultra 60+ fps with gtx 780 on pcie 2.0?
I would be very thankfull to everyone for help.

also sorry for my bad english...

have a nice day

Thank you for fast answer, i saw this question. So then i'd be able to put gtx 780 on 2.0? What FPS rate would i get in bf3 ultra? As i saw, on bf3 ultra gtx 780 can run it with 90-110 fps... more info about this? And what about BF4? would i be able to play this on ultra with 60+ fps?

Yes, you can put your card there and, as hizodge commented, your performance loss will be less than 5%. Considering BF3, ultra quality, 1920x1080 and 5% loss, you may get around 95fps( GTX 780 BF3 FPS test).

Don't worry, you'll be able to run almost anything with this beast.

About BF4, I really have no idea, but I wouldn't worry about it because you can be sure it will run with, at least, satisfactory level of detail.

Just some tips before you buy your card. Recently, I bought a GTX 770 which just crashed my computer at Bios Screen; the problem was solved by upgrading the motherboard BIOS. So, maybe a little search about it can prevent you a rage attack and wall-punching session. Seems to me some mobo-vga compatibility issues can happen.

Finally, just check if your PSU can handle a GTX 780.

So when i get new card, this can crash my computer at bios screen? and i'll need to upgrade mobo bios? is that all? what is psu?

PSU means power supply unit. Example: my psu is a Corsair GS500.

My GTX 770 recommends a 600W(mine is 500W) or higher PSU but I'm having no trouble.

I've googled around and there is a forum where an user specifies his current system and there it is:

This is what I am running:

ASUS Maximus IV Extreme-Z
i7 2600 Sandy @ stock
16GB Corsair Vengance (red) @ 2133 useing the X.M.P.
MSI nVidia GTX 780

So I guess you'll have no vga-mobo compatibility problem since someone else using the same mobo isn't having trouble.

I used my case as example of what can happen, but that doesn't mean you'll have to upgrade your bios or something else. Since, as I mention above, there is at least one person on earth running similar configuration with no problems, you should be fine!

Same cpu than me?:D Nice bro. You have gtx 780 inside? Which one do you recommend me most? asus, msi, evga or gigabyte? Im prefer gigabyte because of better cooling sistem and better cpu clock speed.

I bought a Gigabyte GTX 770 oced version but just because it was the only instantly available. I'm satisfied. But, brand-to-brand comparison, I can't really tell you which is better, recommend opening a new thread for this case.

As a last comment, something I saw around the forum: "I have never regretted paying more for something good. I have often regretted paying less and not being satisfied."

sry for late reply. I really appreciate your help. When i'll get this gpu beast i'll upload some high-end video games gameplays on youtube. Im just wondering, if i'll regret this order about year later, when nvidia will release gtx 800 series with maxwell gpus (50% more cuda cores than kepler) and there will be pcie 4.0. I'm already regreting this, but im sure, next year i'll buy new cpu (probably broadwell) and new mobo... So once again thank you mmiquegami. I really appreciate ur help. U can also add me on skype: thekiroos
