Hi,
Am planing to buy one of the following cards but need your help to choose which one is better
EVGA GeForce GTX 770 1202MHz 4GB PCI-Express 3.0 x16 HDMI Classified w/ ACX Cooler from http://www.dabs.com/products/evga-geforce-gtx-770-1202mhz-4gb-pci-express-3-0-x16-hdmi-classified-w--acx-cooler-8W9J.html?q=evga%20geforce%20gtx%20770&src=16

OR

Asus AMD Radeon 7970 HD 1100MHz 3GB PCI-E 3.0 HDMI ROG MATRIX

from http://www.dabs.com/products/asus-amd-radeon-7970-hd-1100mhz-3gb-pci-e-3-0-hdmi-rog-matrix-8PRQ.html?q=asus%20matrix-hd7970-p-3gd5&src=16

What games do you play? 7970 does better in some, but gtx 770 does better
in some of the real popular games, Far Cry 3, BF 3, etc.

I would opt for the gtx 770

Hi thanks for you answer. I playing FPS games.
That's wonder me on HD7970 is that the memory interfaces is 384bit rather in 770 256bit
Also the CUDA core on 770 is 1536. Is CUDA core the same thing on 7970 Stream Processors? Because if it does then bandwidth on 7970 is faster 2048.

Stream processors are the equivalent (but differ technically), you are right about the memory
bus, but (and I have an AMD 7870hgz) in most of todays popular games the 770 does a little
better than the 7970, but you prob wouldn't notice it much if at all in game play.

I'm facing the same scenario on my next GPU upgrade, monitor 1st tho,
7970 vs 770. With me, the 7970 might be a better option as I very seldom game play.
I do a lot of photo editing, and the AMD cards seem to be a little better in that area.

Ok..After think i again I come to the conclusion to get the 7970
1)7970 has 384 bit bus and 770 256 bit which mean the data transfer faster in 7970( the bus speed cant be overclock)
2)The core clock and Effective Memory Clock in 770 is little better than 7970 but that can be overclock in 7970 and get this values too
3)3GB in 7970 is enough for the games rather 4GB that 770 uses. 4GB according to online research it may be need in case you add multiple monitors
4)The Max Resolution Details for 7970 is DVI: 2560 x 1600 / VGA: 2048 x 1536 which is over-good for my hdmi hp 23 inch.770 uses
4096 x 2160 at 240 Hz
5)The CUDA core that 770 used is 1536 which is the same name as Stream Processors. The 7970 uses better processors 2048
6)With 7970 get 2 games free

Hope am correct.

2) core clock doesn't matter when we are talking abotu 2 completely diffrent gpus
3) there is a 2gb version of the 770 which is plenty as well
5) CUDA Core =/= Stream processor. more =/= better

5700 MHz Effective Memory Clock

Asus AMD Radeon 7970 HD 1100MHz 3GB PCI-E 3.0 HDMI ROG MATRIX
Core Clock 1100 MHz
Effective Memory Clock 6.6 GHz

o_O Sapphire is better??

I'd recommend the EVGA GTX 770 SC w/ ACX cooling. Outpreforms the 7970ghz edition in almost every category. Gets up to 1202 in boost. Overall awesome card. If you're just using 1080p then 2gb is fine but the 4gb edition is an awesome choice as well for future proofing or if you run at a higher res.

Sapphire hasn't really has the best quality in my opinion. I'd go with ASUS or EVGA only. MSI is a far third.

Clearly you had a hard time reading my post then. Also If you look at sapphire for AMD they're never at the top. Then again you have a sapphire so you must know how awesome they truly are as a whole...

Like I said I recommend the EVGA GTX 770 SC or the ASUS version. If you decide to go with the 7970 then ASUS or MSI would be the only two that i'd get. I hope I broke that down enough for you to understand byo.

I would go with Nvidia. I just recently got a 760 and the drivers are so much better than AMD. I had two 6870s and they have never ran quite right, even when i disabled crossfire. Nvidia has won me over, I play cod, bf3, crysis etc and it can handle those maxed out at 1080p.
