Most eye-friendly 27-30" monitor for a lot of text reading under £325/€400/$500

Hi,

I'm looking for a new 27-30" monitor and I'd welcome your advice and recommendation. I spend most of my time (8-16 hours a day) in front of a monitor so I'd like to go with one that is real easy on eyes when reading (and typing) lots of text. I made my own research and what I've got so far is:
- to avoid both glossy and anti-glare screens and go with regular matte ones,
- VA will probably be the best choice, IPS can have blurry text,
- higher refresh rate is better.

I don't need it for games, video, graphic design or anything else, so response times, precise colors etc. don't matter. Just office work that includes lots and lots of reading.

Also, as long as it has VESA, it doesn't matter how well it's adjustable.

I prefer monitors that allow to go really low with brigthness, although of course that can mean something different for everyone and I don't know whether it's possible to find this in technical details. If I'm not mistaken, the cd/m2 value is about the maximum brightness and doesn't tell much about the minimum (unless of course the higher the maximum, the higher the minimum).

Could you please recommend models that cause the least possible eye strain when reading text? Feel free to recommend more models as it's possible not all of them will be sold in my country.

For better text you need higher resolution ... you are looking at full HD only , you should look at 2560x1440 27 inch monitors.

Thanks for the resolution tip, didn't realize that. Unfortunately all of the panels I posted use 1920x1080. In fact, I can't find a single VA monitor with higher resolution, only IPS and PLS ones.

Thank you, but €540 is kind of a lot. Was really hoping to get under €400. Now that I think of it, is higher resolution really better for eyes? Everything gets smaller. Apple is obsessed with huge resolutions and when I saw iPhone 5, the text (specifically names of apps in the main menu) was a little hard to read.

more DPI means CLEAR TEXT ... dont worry about the size you can change the font size in windows as you like.

get this monitor you will never regret it

it has also 1 billion colors .. it is wonderfull for both colors and text and high resolution , what do you want more

and yes more resolution means more clear text and images.

well , thn choose any full HD VA LCD , be sure it is 8 bit for 16m colors ...

I never used cheap VA so I cant tell.

and I like IPS more but is not for you

I only read that VA panels are better for text clarity but it seems IPS panels are just as good if not better. An AH-IPS Dell UltraSharp U2713HM panel is currently in my focus.

I never bought VA btw .. I love IPS...
