Long bios boot times

Currently on a p8h77-m from asus, can take over a minute to start-up.
its not that windows takes a long time, once i get past the bios it takes about 20 seconds..
its the part that gives you the option to enter the bios.

started when my monitor suddenly went blank.

specs:
Asus GTX 660 CUII TOP
i5 3470
2TB 5400 rpm HDD
Windows 8

I suspect that you haven't chosen a default so end up waiting for a timeout each time.

Do you have latest BIOS and mobo drivers? Should be a delay time you can change to a lower amount of time

Might be worth listing which peripheral devices you have plugged into the motherboard as well.
