Cooler Master R4 vs SP120s on an h100i...

They pretty much have the same specs, but I can't find any definitive reviews about the R4 on a radiator.

Has anyone used these before? (Not as a case fan)

Can you provide a link for what Cooler Master fan you are specifically refering to? I tried to do a quick look on Newegg, and to my horror, almost ever fan had R4 after the brand name.

I can tell you, straight up, that the Corsair SP120 High Performance rates really high as a radiator fan. The acoustics, though, leave something to be desired.

Similar airflow, similar static pressure (which I thought are the two most important factors for radiator fans). I'm not concerned about dba.

There's also that fan, not sure why I'm having such a hard time finding comparisons for this and the R4.

If those are the Coolermaster Sickleflow fans (or the other product which are the same in all but name) then I would go with the Corsair S120s, still.

Now, this was on an H80, so the results may vary.

With that in mind, I noticed that the Cooler Master fans are listed as having "Long Life Sleeve" bearings. Since they are noticeably cheaper, I wouldn't be surprised if they are just of the standard sleeve bearing type, rather than a modification like rifled, or hydraulic. Life span aside, modified sleeve bearing type fans can actually take being mounted horizontally.

Yea that's the bench I saw earlier. But http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7xjUgasRiY shows that the difference is a mere few degrees.

Ah... whatever, I'll just get the sickleflows and see the temps. If they're not within my expectations, I'll just grab the sp120s. Thanks.
